What is the process for obtaining a sick leave medical certificate?
It will be at the doctor's discretion to issue a sick leave certificate, but these are usually granted when the patient will benefit from rest due to a medical condition.
In-person appointment: You will attend at the agreed date and time for your consultation and, if applicable, the issuance of the corresponding certificate.
Online appointment: It will be scheduled for the agreed date and time. Contact with the doctor (via phone or video call) will be through WhatsApp, as everyone has this app installed, making it easy to switch from audio to video if the professional deems it necessary.
When do I need a medical certificate?
The medical certificate is usually required by an employer or a study institution and it serves as proof that a doctor has indicated the need to rest.
